At the beginning of the 2021 academic year, Al-Nahda Association held a webinar to honor the students of the Thaber Project, a newly launched initiative aimed at supporting students from Al-Nahda beneficiary families to continue and succeed in their education amid the COVID-19 pandemic and remote learning.

The event opened with a welcoming speech and an introduction to Thaber presented by Ms. Aseela Tarablousi, Director of the Vocational Rehabilitation Program.
She highlighted the number of families benefiting from the project—314 mothers and more than 1,000 students, spanning both higher education and general education. She also outlined the logistical services provided to all Thaber beneficiaries, as well as initiatives related to skill-building, mental health support, academic assistance, and the overall project plan designed to ease the exceptional learning experience for students and their families.

This was followed by Ms. Khawla Al-Luhaidan, Director of the Capacity Development Program, who shed light on the program’s contribution to Thaber. She emphasized its major role in assisting beneficiary mothers by helping bridge the digital literacy gap through training sessions and workshops on how to navigate digital platforms, log into educational systems, and use platforms such as Zoom.

A recorded message from Ms. Nidaa Al-Olayan, Director of the Financial and Social Support Program, was then shared. She highlighted her program’s role in providing financial, technical, social, psychological, and educational support that enabled Al-Nahda students to continue their academic progress during the pandemic. She also emphasized how Thaber contributed to psychological and family stability during this period.

In the webinar, Mr. Mohammed Al-Mufdi, Marketing Officer at the Faheem platform, underscored the platform’s role in helping remove obstacles students may face in their academic journey. He praised the strong engagement of Thaber students and expressed the platform’s commitment to continuing its collaboration with Al-Nahda to help achieve shared strategic goals.

The event concluded with remarks from Ms. Rasha Alturki, CEO of Al-Nahda, addressed to the Thaber students. She congratulated them on their success and their positive engagement with the learning platform, emphasizing that the Thaber Project will continue to support them and that the Thaber community is committed to helping them succeed in remote learning. She also announced that 80 new families would be joining the program in 2021.

She expressed special thanks to Thaber’s supporters—individuals and partners—including Boeing as the main sponsor of the project, as well as Landmark, Zain, Samba, the Suliman Al-Olayan Foundation, and Northern Trust. She emphasized that success partners and sponsors play a vital role in the completion and impact of any developmental project, and that their support significantly contributes to advancing Al-Nahda’s mission and vision.
