In line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and in support of building a vibrant society that drives a prosperous economy for an ambitious nation, a partnership was established between PepsiCo’s Tamkini Program and Al-Nahda Association to empower young women in the Kingdom.
Through this partnership, PepsiCo will support Al-Nahda’s Fursa Program, which aims to eliminate barriers that graduates face in continuing their educational and career journeys beyond high school and to increase their participation in the labor market.
PepsiCo will also support the Himmah Program, which aims to sustain Al-Nahda’s positive impact on beneficiaries and enable them to become active and influential leaders in their communities by equipping them with essential skills and knowledge related to social, health, legal, and digital awareness.
PepsiCo’s Tamkini Program will support both initiatives for one year.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding took place during a panel discussion held at Al-Nahda’s headquarters in Riyadh. The session highlighted the purpose of both programs, the participant journey, and the roles of PepsiCo and Al-Nahda in achieving program objectives.
The event was attended by Vice Chairwoman of Al-Nahda’s Board of Directors, Ms. Fawzia Al-Rashed; Aamer Sheikh, CEO and General Manager of PepsiCo for the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan; along with several executives from PepsiCo and Al-Nahda, media representatives, and notable community figures.
On this occasion, Aamer Sheikh expressed his delight with this partnership, emphasizing its significant positive impact within PepsiCo’s Tamkini Program. He stated:
“Saudi Arabia is experiencing remarkable and historic transformation, particularly with its rich initiatives for women’s empowerment and future development pathways aligned with Vision 2030. These changes have positively contributed to expanding opportunities for Saudi women and enhancing their capabilities, enabling them to excel without limitations.”
He added:
“This step aligns with our commitment to being among the leading companies providing equal opportunities worldwide. Inspired by our ‘Winning with Purpose’ strategy, we aim to develop exceptional national talent and sustain it while creating a workforce that reflects the diversity of our consumers and local communities. This effort accelerates our strategic goal of empowering one million Saudi women by 2030.”
For her part, Ms. Fawzia Al-Rashed affirmed that empowering women requires the combined efforts of all community stakeholders. She added:
“Al-Nahda looks forward to ongoing collaboration with various institutions across all sectors to advance economic and developmental empowerment, and to create social and developmental opportunities for all individuals.”
She also expressed her happiness in partnering with PepsiCo to help achieve the goals of the Fursa and Himmah programs.
PepsiCo has long adopted significant initiatives in promoting women’s roles. Within Saudi Arabia, the Tamkini program stands out as a company-led initiative reflecting its commitment to supporting Vision 2030’s women’s empowerment agenda. The program focuses on supporting women in the workforce and guiding young Saudi women toward achieving their career ambitions and contributing to national development.
Women currently make up over 10% of PepsiCo’s workforce in the Kingdom, holding essential roles as managers, engineers, and factory employees. The company continues to set ambitious annual targets to increase the representation of national female talent, particularly in leadership positions.
