Alnahda Campaigns: #FromPromiseToAction
In the month of giving, generosity and benevolence take center stage, and acts of kindness become the hallmark of all deeds. Ramadan is the ideal time to fulfill promises and turn them into action, which is exactly what we witnessed from the generous-hearted supporters during the second edition of Alnahda’s campaign #FromPromiseToAction. This edition included multiple initiatives that played a key role in collecting donations for beneficiaries and empowering them and their families to move out of the cycle of financial need and into the support of people’s zakat.
Under the umbrella of #FromPromiseToAction, five campaigns with different goals were implemented this year. We began the month of giving with the #GoodErrands campaign, held annually in collaboration with Alnahda Ambassadors. This campaign conveys the real and sometimes difficult lives of beneficiary families to donors, allowing them to transparently measure the impact of their donations and understand the nature of the recipients. This process is conducted with the full consent of the beneficiaries. By the grace of God, the campaign collected SAR 1,252,555 during Ramadan.
Also under #FromPromiseToAction, Alnahda collaborated with the Khutwa Khair Volunteer Team to distribute 245 food baskets to beneficiary families, containing most of the essential food items, made possible through the donations of generous supporters.
In addition, in partnership with a group of Saudi designers and design students from various universities, Alnahda participated in the Eid Clothing Campaign #DesignForGood in collaboration with Sketch & Give. This campaign aimed to promote the concept of non-monetary giving: those with knowledge can donate knowledge, and those with talent can donate their skills—what we call the “Zakat of Knowledge”. Through this campaign, the designers donated their designs, converting them into a monetary value of SAR 81,000, which was delivered to beneficiary families via prepaid cards to help them purchase Eid clothing.
Following this, the #ChildEidiya electronic campaign was carried out, made possible by the collaboration of Qudra Project volunteers, Alnahda’s team, and partner companies such as MamzooWorld. Through this initiative, the wishes of 207 children were fulfilled, bringing smiles to their faces.
Given the current circumstances, Alnahda also collaborated with the #Fitraty Online Store (part of the Babker Group), utilizing technology to enable donors to provide Zakat al-Fitr and deliver it safely to beneficiary families.
As a conclusion to the #FromPromiseToAction campaigns, Alnahda hosted its first webinar, #AlnahdaCouncil, presented by the Board of Directors members. The webinar highlighted Alnahda’s #FromPromiseToAction campaigns as well as the organization’s initiatives in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
It is noteworthy that all campaigns were conducted in full compliance with the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health.
Alnahda is confident that, with your support, it can achieve its empowerment goals. True sustainable investment lies in investing in human potential to achieve lasting development.
